Abstract
Solitary osseous plasmacytoma is an uncommon tumor occurring 3-7% of plasma cell
neoplasm. The diagnostic criteria of solitary osseous plasmacytoma are 1) the presence
of solitary bony lesion which histologically to be plasma cell tumor 2) normal bone
marrow findings 3) no evidence of anemia, hypercalcemia, and renal involvement.
Recently we experienced a case of solitary osseous plasmacytoma of right iliac bone
associated with high concentration of IgA M-component, 3.24g/dl. After local
radiotherapy of 5000 rad, the mass was disappeared and IgA M-component return to
normal value. After then we are performing regular examination with serum
electrophoresis and bone studies to rule out progression to multiple myeloma. Herein we
report the interesting case with review of the literatures.
